Gus Minor
Sofvie
My background is IT. I started my first company at 16 years of age which provided home computer support, sales and services. While doing this I continued my education in Business Administration and Marketing as well as Computer Sciences. I now hold several diplomas and trade certifications. During my term in college I shifted the focus of my company to a commercial service structure and called it Servunet Computer and Network Services. This grew quickly and I had the opportunity to serve over 550 clients in the area, GTA, Montreal and beyond. Servunet was able to acquire 2 smaller companies in the space by 2006. I launched a marketing and graphic design company (Infinitix) as well which was able to gain value rapidly to the point where I sold it within 1 year of service to a larger firm in the GTA. In 2009, I was approached with an acquisition opportunity. By following through with that opportunity I was then bound by a non-compete in the IT space. In order to continue expanding my knowledge base in a new industry, I joined the Technica Mining team and started mining. My first years in mining were spent on the drills, scoops, construction projects etc.. During my tenure at Technica Mining I was able to serve as a miner, coordinator/planner, supervisor, superintendent and resident IT consultant. I helped Technica with their digital conversions and innovations. In 2018, I was then asked to remove myself as one of the project superintendents at Technica in order to continue working on an internal tool that was in the proof of concept stages to help expand its potential. Within 6 months the sofvie vision was born and now here we are today with Sofvie Inc. where I am now the Chief Operating Officer.
